Joel and Chemaine Almquist run this haven for rescued tigers, leopards and other wild cats out of their home in Phelan, about a 15-minute drive from Wrightwood. Featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the Forever Wild animal sanctuary has been completely remodeled with a new Welcome Center, gift shop and improved facilities for the animals. Be sure to stop by and support them — all proceeds go toward caring for these endangered wild animals. Hours are 10-5 Saturday-Sunday; 12-5 Tuesday-Friday. Closed Mondays.
