Mountaineer Days Wrightwood

Held every Independence Day weekend, Wrightwood Mountaineer Days is one of the village’s biggest events. Each year, this Wild West celebration draws crowds from all over the Southland, who come here to enjoy the fresh mountain air, live entertainment and bed races.

Several contests are thrown into the mix, from bubble-gum blowing and watermelon eating to water balloon tosses and nail driving competitions. For more Western fun, check out the gold panning, cowboy quick draw contests and the wagon train and pioneer reenactment. The beard and moustache contest always seems to draw chuckles from bystanders.
